After breast cancer treatment
Physical changes can continue after breast cancer surgery or treatment has finished. You may notice tightness, discomfort, scar sensitivity or difficulty moving your shoulder and arm. Some people develop a cord-like band through the armpit or arm, known as axillary web syndrome or cording.
Rachel will take time to understand how these changes affect you and assess the relevant movement and tissues. Depending on your symptoms, stage of recovery and preferences, care may include gentle hands-on techniques, scar and soft-tissue work, stretching and movement exercises.
This service supports the physical effects of breast cancer treatment and works alongside your wider care. It does not treat cancer or replace oncology, breast-care or specialist lymphoedema services. New or unexplained swelling requires appropriate medical or specialist assessment.
