FAQs
Choosing and Booking
How do I book an appointment or class
Book through the Longstanton Wellness website or app. The app also allows you to view and manage your bookings. Each service page includes direct booking buttons for the relevant appointments or classes.
Do I need a referral
You can usually book directly without a referral. If a healthcare professional, employer or insurer is involved, check whether they have any specific requirements before booking.
What if I do not know which service I need
The service pages explain what each appointment offers and provide useful starting points. You can also read the practitioner profiles on the Meet the Team page. If you still have a practical question before booking, use the contact form and a member of the team will respond.
Do I need to know what is causing my symptoms
No. An Osteopathy or Physiotherapy Consultation gives you time to explain what has changed, how it affects you and what you would like help with. Your practitioner will assess the relevant areas, explain their findings and discuss the available options with you.
Can I choose which practitioner I see
Yes. Practitioner names are shown alongside their services, and the Meet the Team page explains each person’s role and experience. You can book directly with the practitioner whose service you want.
FAQs
Appointments and Treatment
What happens at my first appointment
The details depend on the service, but every appointment begins with time to discuss what has brought you in and what you would like from the session. Clinical appointments may include an assessment and an explanation of the findings. Hands-on treatment, exercise, counselling, massage or reflexology will only proceed in a way that is appropriate to the service and agreed with you.
Will treatment begin at the first consultation
For Osteopathy and Physiotherapy, treatment can often begin during the consultation when it is appropriate and you would like to proceed. Sometimes assessment, discussion or referral for further investigation may need to come first.
What should I wear
Wear something you feel comfortable in and can move in easily. For a physical assessment, your practitioner may ask whether you are comfortable exposing or moving clothing away from the area being examined. They will explain what would be useful, and you can decline or ask for the assessment to be adapted.
Can I ask for changes or stop during an appointment
Yes. You can ask questions, request a change in pressure or position, pause or stop at any time. Your practitioner will explain what they propose and ask for your agreement as the appointment progresses.
Can I bring someone with me
You are welcome to bring someone for support. If possible, let us know before the appointment so that we can consider the available space and any practical arrangements.
Will I be expected to book a course of treatment
No fixed course is required across all services. Where follow-up care could be useful, your practitioner will explain why, discuss the options and leave the decision with you.
FAQs
Privacy and Working Together
Will my information be shared with other practitioners
Not automatically. Where another perspective or service could be relevant, your practitioner can discuss this with you. Relevant information is only shared with another practitioner with your permission, unless a legal or safeguarding responsibility requires otherwise.
Do I have to use more than one service
No. Having different practitioners in one centre makes collaboration possible, but it does not mean you need to see more than one person. Any suggestion will be explained so that you can decide whether it feels useful to you.
FAQs
Movement and Classes
Do I need to be fit or flexible before joining a class
No. Each class has a different focus, and movements can be adapted to offer a suitable starting point. The Movement and Classes page explains FOFO Club, Mobilise & Thrive, Iyengar Yoga, Music and Movement Club and personal training.
How do I choose between FOFO Foundations and FOFO Strong
Both FOFO classes explore balance, strength and everyday movement. The two groups allow people to work at different starting points. Use the contact form if you would like practical information about the class formats before booking.
