Counselling

Counselling in Longstanton and Online

Find a confidential space to explore difficult emotions, experiences, relationships or periods of change at a pace that feels manageable to you.

At Longstanton Wellness, you will work with Netty Hogan, an Integrative Counsellor and Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Her experience in counselling, nursing, midwifery and education informs a warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental approach.

You do not need to know exactly what to say or have everything clear before you begin. Sessions create time to consider what is happening, recognise your needs and explore the choices available to you.

The work

What Is Counselling

Counselling offers time to explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships and experiences with someone trained to listen and work alongside you.

You may want to talk about a particular event, feelings that have built over time or a sense that life has become harder to manage. Netty draws on different counselling approaches, shaping the sessions around what you want to explore rather than following a fixed programme.

Is this for me

Reasons People Book

  • Anxiety, worry or feeling constantly on edge
  • Low mood or depression
  • Stress, burnout or feeling overwhelmed
  • Grief, bereavement or another form of loss
  • Relationship or family difficulties
  • Low self-esteem or a loss of confidence
  • Adjusting to a significant life change
  • Pressures connected with work or caring for others
  • The emotional impact of persistent pain or a long-term health condition
  • Feeling stuck or uncertain about what you need next
  • Wanting space for your own feelings without needing to care for or reassure someone else

You do not need to be in crisis or have a diagnosis to book counselling.

Your sessions

What Happens During Counselling

  1. We begin with a conversation

Your first session is time to share what has brought you to counselling, ask questions and get a sense of working with Netty. There is nothing you need to prepare.

  2. Sessions develop around you

You may arrive with a clear concern or need time to understand how you are feeling. Netty will work at your pace and draw on approaches suited to what you want to explore.

  3. We review together

You and Netty can discuss how counselling feels, what has been useful and what you need next. Booking a first appointment does not commit you to a fixed number of sessions.
